What is anxiety?
A certain level of stress is typical and expected. You work a demanding job, have a busy schedule, and tend to your most valued relationships. But normal stress can turn into anxiety, overactive worry, or even panic at times. These challenges can become so problematic that they interfere with your daily life.
Is this you?
- Constant worry
- Physical symptoms including racing heart rate, tightness in chest, muscle tension, headaches, upset stomach, or dizziness
- Restlessness
- Decreased Sleep
- Changes in appetite
- Constantly feeling like something bad is going to happen
- Obsessing about "what if"...
- Avoiding social or group situations
Did any of the above look familiar?

I typically use Brainspotting, IFS, and mindfulness to address Anxiety:
Brainspotting:
Brainspotting therapy helps you access and process deep emotional experiences and traumas held within your brain and body. Developed from the field of neuroscience, Brainspotting recognizes that where you look affects how you feel.
During a Brainspotting session, we identify specific 'brainspots'—eye positions that correlate with the activation of traumatic or emotionally-charged memories. By focusing your gaze on these spots, we access and release the stored emotions and experiences that are causing distress.
This gentle and non-invasive approach allows the brain to process and heal at its own pace, unlocking profound insights and promoting emotional well-being. It can be particularly effective for individuals who have tried traditional talk therapy without achieving the desired results.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, trauma, or other challenging emotions, Brainspotting offers a powerful tool to navigate your inner landscape, find resolution, and experience profound healing.

IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy:
IFS Therapy, or Internal Family Systems Therapy, is an innovative approach that helps you understand and heal different parts of yourself. Just like a family, you have various inner parts with different thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. Sometimes these parts can feel burdened, causing distress and imbalance in your life.
In IFS therapy, we create a safe and compassionate space to explore these parts and their roles. We listen to their concerns and intentions with curiosity and respect. Through dialogue and collaboration, we work together to release burdens, heal wounds, and restore harmony within your internal system.
By cultivating a self-led perspective, we tap into your core essence—the Self—to guide the healing process. With the Self's wisdom, we help the burdened parts find new, healthier roles that align with your overall well-being.
IFS therapy can provide profound insights, deep healing, and lasting transformation. If you're looking to understand and integrate the different parts of yourself, IFS therapy offers a unique and powerful pathway to inner peace and wholeness.

My name is Erin Swan and I've been in the mental health field for over 20 years. I know looking into therapy can be scary, and feel unsafe. Changing may even seem impossible. With the right support, desire, and willingness to open up and consider the possibility, we can all heal.
I believe that most challenges can be overcome, and with support, most people can get past what is holding them back, when they are ready. I have learned to navigate many personal and professional challenges that have shown me how strong I can be. I want to help you do the same! Reach out for a short chat so we can see if we would make a good team in your healing. You are not alone According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), approximately 40 million Americans are diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. Of course, the average person experiences some form of anxiety from time to time. However, when anxiety, panic, or past traumas get in the way of your health, relationships, job or other life events, therapy can help. |

"For me, doing online counseling has made it easier to connect to you than with previous in-person therapists, because this format somehow feels less threatening. I'm at home, you're at home - you're a professional, but also a normal person"

"As a single mom, trying to navigate making (and keeping!) an appointment for myself has been impossible so I've put it off for a long time. Having an online therapist means that I can do therapy while he's taking a nap. No extra driving, no finding a babysitter. It's the only way I would've ever dealt with this anxiety and loneliness."

I’m 42 now and I’ve had the pleasure of Erin’s friendship since we were in the 7th grade. Even at a young age, Erin was incredibly kind and had a natural tendency to care for others. Today, she is someone I never have to hesitate to call on when I need a hand or a sympathetic shoulder to lean on. In a non-judgmental and soothing way, Erin manages to open your eyes to your own strengths. I consider myself lucky to have Erin in my corner and call her an old friend.
